We’re down to the nitty gritty, folks … only 10 days to go. Since the premiere of Outlander way back in August of 2014, the show’s popularity has exploded. And with that popularity explosion, an expansive number of websites have emerged in all corners of the globe. So, if you’re still with my little website, I’d like to say “Thank ye!” Know that I appreciate each and every one of you, and I hope you continue to enjoy my quirky sense of humor in Season 3.
Okay, folks. Droughtlander is almost over which means it’s time to start rev’ing up. Anyone on social media today knows Entertainment Weekly released several new insider looks at Season 3 as well as a peek at the Caitriona Balfe and Sam Heughan photo shoot in South Africa. The pictures are sizzling hot. I took it upon myself to grab a few gems from the photo shoot video and added my own special touch to them. I hope you enjoy.
One of the many things you’ll notice about Ron D. Moore‘s scripted Outlander Episode 301: THE BATTLE JOINED is the silence. Though it’s not without battle scenes on Culloden Moor and in Boston, silence is the name of the game. Firstly, they’ll be no juicy spoilers in this glimpse of Episode 301. My lips are sealed out of respect for the show and its fans. Secondly, there is no Claire or Jamie voiceover, nor any “Look Who’s Talking” voiceover from baby Bree. Nope. No voiceover from Frank, either.
The first official Outlander Season 3 trailer premiered on Sunday and because you haven’t all been hiding out in Jamie’s dunbonnet cave, I know you’ve watched it over and over . . . and over . . . and then a few more times. You’ve freeze-framed and feasted your eyes on every image. Analyzed the whole kilt and caboodle. But just in case you haven’t had your head stuck in the sand, here it is again:
As you may or may not know, I am not only a HUGE Outlander fan but am also a BIG fan of The Walking Dead. While on Friday, March 31st Outlander Episode 105: RENT reduxed, The Walking Dead aired its spectacular season 7 finale on Sunday, April 2nd. As I am in Atlanta (home base for The Walking Dead production company & crew) for the week, I have walkers! Walkers! WALKERS! on my delicious brain.
Outlander Episode 104: THE GATHERING reduxed last Friday, March 24th. This is still one of my favorite episodes of Season 1 for many reasons – the music, the je suis prest moment-of-moments, the tension, the action, the costumes, the comedy. Oodles and oodles of good stuff. What am I forgetting? … oh, yes. Diana Gabaldon’s small-screen appearance, not to mention show handler Ron Moore looking dapper in blue velvet.
And we shorten our wait for the Season 3 premiere by one more week. Outlander Episode 103: THE WAY OUT reduxed on Friday, March 17th. In this episode, Jamie gets himself into a bit of hot water – not with Claire but with the fans. Watching Jamie swap spit with Laoghaire never gets any easier. It’ll be interesting to see what the writers do with Jamhaire? Laogmie? Leermie? Jameery? ‘s relationship in future seasons. Meanwhile, Claire tries to make the best of a bad situation playing doctor with Jamie (I wish!), spending girl-time with her besties Geillis and the Fitz (I don’t know…) and butting heads with…
Two episodes down, twenty-seven to go. Outlander Episode 102: CASTLE LEOCH reduxed on Friday, March 10th in the U.S. only. But just because other countries aren’t reduxing the show doesn’t mean you can’t all follow along with Jamie and Claire’s helpful tips. Up until the very end, Claire still thinks she’s going to make a clean get away, rush back to the stones and return to Frank’s loving arms all in time for dinner. Her stop in Jamieville hasn’t hit home yet though she doesn’t completely hate the detour whenever they’re alone.
You may or may not have heard, Starz is reduxing the Outlander series from the very beginning – one episode every Friday from March 3rd up to September 15th. Not to spread any unconfirmed rumors (or maybe I am because I’m about to), the hopeful assumption is Season 3 may begin on either Saturday, September 16th, or Sunday, the 17th, right after the Season 2 redux ends. And that’s all I’m gonna say about that!
Outlander star Caitriona Balfe brought one home for the Outlander Starz team in the form of a British Academy of Film and Television Arts Best Television Actress Award on Sunday, 6 November 2016. That’s a mouthful to say which is why I shortened it to BAFTA for the BALFE!
