Checking in with my fellow wallflowers. I hope you are all continuing with your social distancing as we are still heading up the incline of this pandemic. Remain steadfast and strong!
We are doing well in my house. I went to the grocery store this afternoon, figuring it’s hit or miss nowadays. I had not been inside a store for about a month. My sister and I stocked up two weeks before things went crazy-crazy, knowing what was coming. I’ve done the online ordering and pick up a few times, but they don’t always have what I want.
My family and I have been trying to help each other out, so I went to the store today for 6 people—not just myself. I was very pleasantly surprised to find the grocery store better stocked than I expected it to be on a Sunday afternoon. I found items we haven’t been able to get in weeks. But I did not hoard and took only what we needed. The truly interesting thing is before the pandemic, I had trouble finding my favorite bread in the store: Lewis Nutty Oat. Today, it was in plentiful supply. What the heck? Is the nutty oat loaf now the brussel sprouts of the bread aisle. You folks do not know what you are missing. Try it. You’ll love it.
Enough about food. This morning I was excited to find seven N95 masks in my emergency kit. I didn’t realize I had so many and will be delivering them to my sister for her husband’s hospital tomorrow.
If you’re a regular reader, you might recognize the picture of the Welsh cottage above. I wouldn’t mind being there now. Sigh.
Please let me know how you are all doing. Watching a new show? Getting projects done around the house? Working out? Catching up on your reading? Turn off the news and give social media a break. Do something positive!
Take care. Better days are ahead.
