If you missed it or are not on twitter, you want to know Diana Gabaldon jumped online today to answer questions in a Barnes & Noble twitter-hosted chat. I haven’t posted one of these in a while, so thought I should jump to it.
Since the success of the Outlander television series, websites have been cropping up in support of the show – reporting anything and everything to do with Outlander, big and small. However, I will continue to add creative content to my postings (whenever I have the time), so that you can enjoy something a little different.
Having said that, yesterday I posted five Season 2 promos showcasing Claire, Jamie, Murtagh, Dougal, and one other character. As today is Executive Producer Ron D. Moore‘s birthday, I am adding two additional promo posters to my collection.
Happy Birthday to our fearless showrunner:
And the collection wouldn’t be complete without a promo of the woman who started it all:
Now on to the fun stuff. Today is also, my friend and Outlander fan, Fern Manor‘s birthday, so a special “Happy Birthday” to her.
At last . . . here compiled, for your reading pleasure, are the Q&A’s from Diana’s Barnes & Noble twitter-chat. Enjoy!
.Join me in just about thirty minutes, for a live B&N Twitter chat! Tag your questions with #BNOutlanderChat !

— Diana Gabaldon (@Writer_DG) July 5, 2015
@thelynsj Absolutely love the Comte St. Germain! <g> #greateyebrows But gotta say Fergus is my favorite so far.
— Diana Gabaldon (@Writer_DG) July 5, 2015
@kathymom01 Nah, it was all Lord John's idea–he's a very strong mushroom (a character who just pops up and walks off with the scene).
— Diana Gabaldon (@Writer_DG) July 5, 2015
@fergie672 More or less. The ghost will _be_ there, I can say that much.
— Diana Gabaldon (@Writer_DG) July 5, 2015
@writersorcha Hahahahahahahahahahhaaaa… You think you're safe, just because you're in England….
— Diana Gabaldon (@Writer_DG) July 5, 2015
@danyelledrexler Oh, lots! The honeypot scene, for one. <g> But also red dress, and a number of the tender, wrenching scenes.
— Diana Gabaldon (@Writer_DG) July 5, 2015
@AmieMichael1 @BNBuzz I hope so. I reckon they have a lot to say to each other.
— Diana Gabaldon (@Writer_DG) July 5, 2015

@fergie672 Yes. That doesn't mean I have an answer, mind…
— Diana Gabaldon (@Writer_DG) July 5, 2015
@DistantMoon @BNBuzz Of what? If you mean the show, that's not up to me (and prob. a little early to think of). If books, there already is

@outlanderswift Thank you! Glad you enjoy them!
— Diana Gabaldon (@Writer_DG) July 5, 2015
@KokiePipkin Well, you've been there for a few… <g> No, it was probably the lady with the FC icon tattooed on her foot…
— Diana Gabaldon (@Writer_DG) July 5, 2015
@CheaneyMelissa Ah…symbolic of what?
— Diana Gabaldon (@Writer_DG) July 5, 2015
@OutlanderHQ @BNBuzz Well, there will be a prequel about Jamie's parents. And I _may_ do a text form of THE EXILE.
— Diana Gabaldon (@Writer_DG) July 5, 2015
@writing4kix @BNBuzz Brianna, probably. She wasn't organic; I was just stuck with her because Claire was pregnant at end of DIA.
— Diana Gabaldon (@Writer_DG) July 5, 2015
@SundaeLiz Nah, I wasn't planning for anyone to read the book.
— Diana Gabaldon (@Writer_DG) July 5, 2015
@Candida_LN The Man Who Would Be King. Also Amadeus. Also Casablanca.

— Diana Gabaldon (@Writer_DG) July 5, 2015
@JenniferClark32 You mean are they getting crazier? <g> No, but there are a lot more of them, so the standard deviation's bigger.
— Diana Gabaldon (@Writer_DG) July 5, 2015
@StellaWiki I _think_ three. But who knows?
— Diana Gabaldon (@Writer_DG) July 5, 2015
@Alexispetit2 @SamHeughan @caitrionambalfe No, I haven't seen either one.
— Diana Gabaldon (@Writer_DG) July 5, 2015

— Diana Gabaldon (@Writer_DG) July 5, 2015
@heylaurenj @BNBuzz Would have to be deaf, dumb and blind if I didn't. <g> VERY much obliged to you all!
— Diana Gabaldon (@Writer_DG) July 5, 2015

@jerseyinferno Nope. <g>
— Diana Gabaldon (@Writer_DG) July 5, 2015
@BNBuzz @SoBayFan Oh, probably Frank. They tend to be blinded by their partiality for Jamie.
— Diana Gabaldon (@Writer_DG) July 5, 2015
@SundaeLiz Thank _you_!
— Diana Gabaldon (@Writer_DG) July 5, 2015

— Diana Gabaldon (@Writer_DG) July 5, 2015
@camycats Nah, I read _all_ the time, no matter what else is going on.
— Diana Gabaldon (@Writer_DG) July 5, 2015
@jodykchang @BNBuzz I consider it a mitzvah. <g>
— Diana Gabaldon (@Writer_DG) July 5, 2015
@OutManders Didn't occur to me to collect anything. Had a lot of photos. <g>
— Diana Gabaldon (@Writer_DG) July 5, 2015
@Alexispetit2 @SamHeughan He'd be great, but I _think_ he might be just that wee bit overbooked…
— Diana Gabaldon (@Writer_DG) July 5, 2015
@ABOotlanders Heck if I know–it's all one enormous story to me.
— Diana Gabaldon (@Writer_DG) July 5, 2015
@jerseyinferno It always comes down to the characters. People find them interesting and want to know what they're doing. And yes, def!
— Diana Gabaldon (@Writer_DG) July 5, 2015

@Alexispetit2 Very likely, but I'm not far into that book yet.
— Diana Gabaldon (@Writer_DG) July 5, 2015
@TBursoni Would be between Jamie and Claire standing naked w/ each other for the first time and the final scene btween Jamie and BJR in 16.
— Diana Gabaldon (@Writer_DG) July 5, 2015
@SageHillfarms Not right this minute, no… I do 'em all the time. Did one in New Hampshire in June; will be in VA end of Sept.

@writersorcha @WolfeTales @brigitte_jean @SamHeughan Oh, you have NO idea…
— Diana Gabaldon (@Writer_DG) July 5, 2015
@BrittonL29 Neither one. Just wanted to write a novel for practice, and picked 18th c. Scotland on a whim, having seen a man in a kilt.
— Diana Gabaldon (@Writer_DG) July 5, 2015
@MarketzingKC Well, not on purpose. If he happens to tell me about it, that's another thing.
— Diana Gabaldon (@Writer_DG) July 5, 2015
@7_polk ALL the time! I don't plan the books out ahead of time–it wouldn't be fun if I knew what was going to happen.

@BNBuzz Why should she?
— Diana Gabaldon (@Writer_DG) July 5, 2015
@BeckyWiley123 Out of four million words? Oh, let me think… Probably a conversation between Jamie and Roger that I wrote a few mnts ago.
— Diana Gabaldon (@Writer_DG) July 5, 2015
@outlanderswift You're very welcome!
— Diana Gabaldon (@Writer_DG) July 5, 2015
@heylaurenj @BNBuzz Like this afternoon? <g> Keep cool!
— Diana Gabaldon (@Writer_DG) July 5, 2015
@kathymom01 Boy, you name it. If you check my website, though, you'll find "The Methadone List" (under "Resources"), that has some favs.
— Diana Gabaldon (@Writer_DG) July 5, 2015
@EmilyClaire920 No. If there's something I want to say, I don't wait for someone to ask a question about it. <g>
— Diana Gabaldon (@Writer_DG) July 5, 2015
@Alexispetit2 Haven't heard that rumor, but doubt it–nobody knows when second season premiere will be, yet.
— Diana Gabaldon (@Writer_DG) July 5, 2015
@rph36 No. It's like your kids. They may not be perfect, but you wouldn't change them.
— Diana Gabaldon (@Writer_DG) July 5, 2015
@RobertWealleans Is that a question, or an observation? <g> Yes, I expect you'll see a bit more of it.
— Diana Gabaldon (@Writer_DG) July 5, 2015
@marifel No, I got _no_ idea what might happen.
— Diana Gabaldon (@Writer_DG) July 5, 2015

@isabel_keeper Yes. That's why I work in the middle of the night.
— Diana Gabaldon (@Writer_DG) July 5, 2015
@MalcolmRobin I read everything I could get my hands on written by a Scot, listened to recordings of live bands, watched the BBC. <g>
— Diana Gabaldon (@Writer_DG) July 5, 2015
@BevH111 Well…me, I suppose… I wasn't planning to leap through flaming hoops or juggle penguins, though.
— Diana Gabaldon (@Writer_DG) July 5, 2015
@julia_mar WAY too many beautiful presents to begin to pick. Very special, though, was a shepherd's calendar–also an astrolabe.
— Diana Gabaldon (@Writer_DG) July 5, 2015
@ReneeAHedden I just knew she was a girl.
— Diana Gabaldon (@Writer_DG) July 5, 2015

— Diana Gabaldon (@Writer_DG) July 5, 2015

— Diana Gabaldon (@Writer_DG) July 5, 2015
@Cetacea3 Nope. Doesn't change it at all. I've seen it–it's brilliant!
— Diana Gabaldon (@Writer_DG) July 5, 2015
@hurricanekerrie I'm sure there will be a few novellas done before Book Nine, but can't say what they are.
— Diana Gabaldon (@Writer_DG) July 5, 2015
@annap905 Yes, lots of things. Some of them, I'll get, others I won't.
— Diana Gabaldon (@Writer_DG) July 5, 2015
@brigitte_jean @BNBuzz No. I would, if the occasion arose, but it really hasn't.
— Diana Gabaldon (@Writer_DG) July 5, 2015

— Diana Gabaldon (@Writer_DG) July 5, 2015
@outlanderswift Probably not soon, but will look forward to going back!
— Diana Gabaldon (@Writer_DG) July 5, 2015
@BNBuzz @muggleliason I don't actually know, because Claire didn't.
— Diana Gabaldon (@Writer_DG) July 5, 2015
@EmilyClaire920 Not a lot, no. The publisher confers w/ accounts and makes the decisions.
— Diana Gabaldon (@Writer_DG) July 5, 2015
@b304SMN No, I can't, sorry. Have fun, though!
— Diana Gabaldon (@Writer_DG) July 5, 2015

@Candida_LN Oh, yeah. <g> They routinely hate my first few suggestions.
— Diana Gabaldon (@Writer_DG) July 5, 2015
@Ksrnv Heck, no. I don't plan the story to go anywhere in particular; I just live with the characters and we all respond to circumstance.
— Diana Gabaldon (@Writer_DG) July 5, 2015
#BNOutlanderChat Gotta go, guys! It's been great fun, but I have to go and wash my hair in preparation for the B&N event this afternoon!
