Terry Dresbach is the amazing and talented Costume Designer for the Starz Outlander series, based on the novel by Diana Gabaldon. Ms. Dresbach has a wonderful blog where she shares her sketches, research and design process for several characters in the show. You can visit her at An Eighteenth Century Life. It’s full of fantastic Outlander goodies! Don’t miss out on her thoughts and insights on the show and life in Scotland.
As Outlander gets under way in the United States and across the globe, we are gifted with more trailers, clips, and photographs than we know what to do with – not really! The latest released (via Outlander-fan) is a collection of promotional cast photographs. Although most of you have already seen them, I decided to post them on my site to help spread the love.
As has already been proven, this show has taken absolutely no shortcuts when it comes to talent or expense. The performances so far outdo every other television show on the air, past or present. And the costumes are rich and as much a character of the story as the actors and landscape without your even noticing. Well, okay . . . our eyes can’t help but be drawn to Claire’s wardrobe. And come on, men in kilts. Are you kidding me?
To start things off, I’ve posted a few choice wardrobe selections of Claire Randall (Caitriona Balfe) from Episode #101, followed by the promotional cast photos.
SPOILER ALERT: I think Jamie would have lost his virginity just looking at Claire in this next piece.
Cast photographs were taken by Outlander unit photographers, Starz photographers or Producer Matt Roberts.
